Newark Equestrian is a small, friendly, professionally run Riding School, Training Centre and Livery Yard in Balderton, Newark-on-Trent. We are a 5-star licensed and insured facility with qualified instructors, and we are also a registered Pony Club Centre. All our staff are DBS checked, first aid and safeguarding trained. We pride ourselves in being able to give expert tuition, guidance, help and support for riders of all ages and abilities to help you achieve your aspirations; whether they are a casual hack in the countryside, or up to competition level dressage, show jumping or eventing. We take children from as early as 3 years old and currently our oldest rider is 70 having taken it up after a 25 year break! We have an excellent selection of horses and ponies to suit everybody's needs who are well schooled, regularly competed and able to support you as you progress in your riding.
Newark Equestrian is owned and run by Christine Carlile. Christine is a BHS intermediate instructor with over 35 years of experience in all aspects and disciplines of horsemanship. Christine started riding at the age of 5 on her first pony ‘Flighty’ and became an active member of the Exmoor Pony Club. At the age of 18 whilst studying for her ‘A’ levels Christine passed her BHSAI exam, subsequently taking a year out to work as an instructor on a busy BHS riding school in Buckinghamshire, where she took her BHSII intermediate instructor examination.
Christine went on to successfully manage a variety of yards. Experience also includes Riding for the Disabled, Youth Training Schemes (YTS) and has personally worked and competed Hunters to County level and successfully evented.
Christine has previously competed at medium/advance level dressage with her previous horse Rolie. Christine now has a lovely new horse called Trento - watch this space for news as they start to get out and about competing.
